# Notes

> Attach private notes to any DeFi position—why you opened it, your exit plan, a link to your research—and read them right where the position lives.

Attach private notes to any DeFi position—why you opened it, your exit plan, a link to your research—and read them right where the position lives. Open a position's detail page and click the **Notes** button in the header; a badge on the button shows how many notes you've written.

## Where You Can Add Notes

| **Place** | **How notes are attached** |
| - | - |
| **DeFi position detail pages** | One set of notes per position—Uniswap V3, Aerodrome, and Orca positions all have the Notes button on their detail page |
| **Aave lending detail page** | One set of notes per wallet per chain, covering that wallet's whole Aave position |

Notes live on the detail pages, not on the dashboard cards—open a position's full view to read or write them.

## Writing a Note

1. Click **Notes** to slide open the **My Notes** panel
2. Click the **+** button to create a new note
3. Type your note—up to **2,000 characters**—and click **Add**

You can keep as many notes on a position as you like; they're listed newest first, each stamped with the date and time it was written. Links starting with `http` or `https` become clickable, so a note can point at a Dune dashboard, a tweet, or your own docs.

**Long notes stay tidy** - Notes longer than a few lines collapse to a three-line preview with a **Show More** toggle, so a detailed journal entry doesn't bury the rest.

## Editing and Deleting

Each note has a pencil icon to edit and a trash icon to delete. Deleting asks for confirmation—**it can't be undone**—while editing reopens the note in the same dialog you wrote it in.

## Who Can See Your Notes

Notes are **private to your account**:

* They never appear on [shared portfolio pages](/guides/enterprise#share-links)—a client or auditor opening your share link sees the portfolio, not your notes
* Guests browsing the [demo view](/guides/demo-view) can't create notes

Notes are available on every plan.
